Sage X3

The Sage X3 template provides a ready-to-use set of views, dashboards, reports, and workbooks. Choose the installation approach that best suits your organization's environment. Optionally, you can import users from Sage X3 into SEI in a separate step after the initial installation.

After installation, explore the predefined analyses available in the Sage X3 template. See Predefined Analyses for details on available views, dashboards, reports, and workbooks.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites

Before you start, ensure you have:

  • Sage X3: A supported version installed.
  • Destination database: A target database, preferably matching your Sage X3 database collation.
  • DataSync: A supported version installed.
  • Installation package: The latest package downloaded from ShareFile.

Installation scenarios

Choose the path that matches your environment:

ScenarioDescriptionWhen to choose
Direct production database accessAll configuration is performed in SEI, connecting directly to your live production Sage X3 database. For a small or single-company setup needing only light, real-time reporting.
Via replicated data warehouseProduction data is replicated to a data warehouse using DataSync.
The template then reads from the warehouse.
For many users or frequent/complex reporting needs, to avoid slowing the main Sage X3 database.
SEI CloudData is synced to the Cloud via DataSync. The template connects to Cloud-hosted data warehouse. Credentials are provided after cloud provisioning is complete. For distributed teams or those preferring no local server maintenance.

  2. Create the destination connection
  3. Import the synchronization extraction
  4. Schedule the extraction
  5. Import the template
  6. Build and load OLAP cubes
