Install Central Point

After setting up your database users, install SEI Central Point. Central Point acts as the application’s main repository and is configured as a Windows shared folder. This repository must be accessible in Read and Write mode by the account running SEI. Central Point is usually installed on the same server as SEI.

During installation, the Central Point configuration database is created to store application-wide settings such as user access. The installation package sets up the SEI database and establishes the Central Point folder path.

To install SEI, locate your installation folder and run either Nectari Central Point For SQL Server And Oracle.exe or SEI Central Point For SQL Server And Oracle.exe depending on the product name in your environment. Then follow the steps below for your setup.

important

If you encounter the error Some files named could not be created during installation:

  • If Server defaults is checked, verify whether BI License database files already exist at that location and delete them as needed before retrying.
  • Otherwise, confirm that the database instance's user account has permission to write to the desired path, or select a different location and rerun the installer.
