Finished Products Global Variable

The Finished Products global variable (@@FINISHED_PROD_GROUP) is used in SEI to calculate the value of Sold Products (Cost of Goods Sold, CMV/COGS) and Inventory. By correctly setting this variable, you ensure that sales and inventory reports only include products from the correct Sage X3 product category.

Benefits of the Finished Products global variable​

  • Calculating financial KPIs accurately: Ensure Cost of Goods Sold and Inventory metrics are based on the correct category of products identified as finished goods.
  • Excluding irrelevant items: Prevent unfinished products or raw materials from being incorrectly included in your sales and inventory analysis.

Configure the global variable​

  1. In the navigation panel, click the gear icon to open the Administration section.
  2. On the left panel, click Global Variables.
  3. Click the pen icon next to @@FINISHED_PROD_GROUP. Use the search box to find it quickly from the list.
  4. Next to Scripts, enter FINIS.
  5. Click Update.
    The Value field for this variable now displays the category code from the appropriate X3 product category for finished products.
