Dedicated BI Account
A dedicated Windows user account named NecBIAccount is created for use by IIS websites running SEI Server. This account is selected by default during installation to simplify setup and provide a secure, application-specific identity.
Using the default NecBIAccount is recommended, as it avoids the need to create a custom service account in advance. The NecBIAccount is configured with a non-expiring password and is intended exclusively for use with SEI, enhancing both security and maintainability.
Do not use the characters = or ; in any installer fields, as this may cause installation issues.
Account behavior and use
NecBIAccount functions as any standard Windows user account. However, unlike a custom account, it is created automatically by the SEI Server installer when needed.
If NecBIAccount is being created for the first time, a server restart is required to enable Excel Add-in distribution capabilities.
