Dimension Mapping
To use analytical dimensions in your reporting and analytics, you must first map each system dimension to its corresponding analytical dimension. Dimension mapping ensures that your data models and visualizations reference business-relevant categories, enabling more flexible and insightful analysis.
Once mapped and saved, these dimensions are now available for use in any data model under the Finance folder. To use a mapped dimension in a report, open a visualization, select Dimensions and Measures from the Toolbar panel, and choose your mapped dimension.
Benefits of mapping dimensions
- Enabling customized analysis: Allow reports and dashboards to break down data by meaningful business categories, such as cost centers, products, or regions.
- Integrating additional business context: Link Sage X3 analytical dimensions with central reporting models for more robust and flexible reporting.
